Research one nutrient from the list below and present the information to the class through the wiki. Work individually, in pairs or in groups of 3. See the number of people allowed in ( ) after each nutrient. References: Food for Life – p.312, and the Mayo Clinic. Go to the library website and use World Book Database, and the Internet (Sweet Search & Twurdy)

The following information needs to be included on your wiki page:
  1. Name of nutrient & alternate name(s).
  2. Function(s) of the nutrient in the body.
  3. Recommended Daily Intake of your nutrient p. 323
  4. Synergists (things that increase the absorption of that nutrient) or inhibitors of the nutrient (things that prevent maximum absorption of that nutrient).
  5. Deficiencies (include name & symptoms) or over consumption of (results?)
  6. Excellent food sources.
  7. Three interesting facts about the nutrient!

Day 1:
  • Find information on your topic.
  • Do NOT copy and paste information. Type notes that are in your own words in a Word document.
  • Find visuals and save images to your p:drive in a folder for uploading. Make sure you copy the URL's of the images for attribution
  • Copy the URL's of the websites you have accessed so that you can easily create your bibliography.

Day 2:
  • Organize notes onto wiki page and upload visuals to accompany
  • Use point form to simplify message, but be prepared to answer questions.
  • Each section should contain a visual to enhance message or presentation

/7 - Visuals (effective)
/3 - 3 interesting facts (with visuals)
/5 - Presentation (clear, audible, answers questions)
